I thought this book was good but not as good as While I Was Gone. I thought the central question was intriguing, though, about how someone could feel a guilty sense of relief over a death.

I have read Sue Miller's books over the years and like some more than others. I loved this new one, but I think Brenda prefered the Senator's Wife. This is why I enjoy book discussions- good to have different opinions and share what we think. I love knowing there are avid readers out there!

I have read all of Miller's books. If there was one that I liked a lot it was The Senator's Wife and the other While I Was Gone...this one was okay...glad you liked it.
I finally was able to get my email to type on this site--I think it was using a computer that was not mine...
