Thanks so much for your comments. I'm so glad you've enjoyed my books, too. I'm working on a novel set in Florence, Italy right now, but I'm sure one day I'll get back to Maine!

I was charmed by this book, so much so that I hesitated to give it to my mother, knowing I'll probably never get it back to read again. All the sensual detail of food and cooking made me want to find the best ingredients and make the most wonderful meal. And while I'm here I want to say I adore your books "East Hope" and "Capturing Paris". I'd love to read another book of yours set in Maine!

I loved this book so much! I read it before I read the prequel of sorts "Wish You Were Here", so I read that and read "Emily Alone" again. I marveled that O'Nan, a 50 year old man, could imagine the life and thoughts of an 80 year old woman so perfectly, and I loved all the little details of the book. It's life, plain and simple.

I thought this book was good but not as good as While I Was Gone. I thought the central question was intriguing, though, about how someone could feel a guilty sense of relief over a death.

I, like you, read so much, the same things happen. Three books from last year-at least three-stay with me
The Postmistress
Roses
Still MIssing
Always look forward to your books-and although I am now reading mainly from my Kindle-I do go back and reread yours...purchased before I had my Kindle. I am thankful to my friend, Margo, for telling me about your books.

Middlemarch is one of those iconic novels that so many writers often refer to. Your victorian lit class sounds great. We do need all kinds of books in our literary diet.

Julia Glass a favorite. On another note, am rereading Middlemarch (with teacher friends on email) and of course, Austens (am teaching Victorian lit in class now) and always, my light light novels...all on my Kindle-which I can't do without.
